Approach
Dance Movement Therapy is a guided space to feel, express, and integrate emotions.
Somatic
We begin with body awareness: sensing, breathing, moving, and listening to what is present. Somatic awareness offers another way of knowing ourselves, one that can unfold beyond words and through sensation, movement, and pleasure.
Relational
Healing happens in relationship. You are accompanied in this therapeutic space where your experience can be expressed, explored, and met with curiosity and compassion. Through movement, words, writing, and conversation, we create new possibilities for relating to yourself and others.
Agency-centered
We explore your capacity to sense, choose, express, and act. Dance creates a space to experience agency in the body, to discover that you can move, change direction, take space, set boundaries, connect, and create.
Contextual &
Historical
We are shaped by the worlds we belong to. Personal experiences are connected to family histories, culture, society, and our environment. When relevant, we make space for collective and transgenerational experiences of trauma, displacement, oppression, or loss, without reducing your story to them.
Slow
Sessions are 60 minutes, held in a partnered studio in Paris. It can take place weekly, or bi-weekly, according to your needs and rhythm.
What happens in a session
You do not need any formal dance training. We cultivate your body's own natural expression.
Arrive
A gentle grounding practice to help you land in the present moment and tune into your body.
Explore
Space to speak about what is present for you, your needs, and your expectations. From there, we move into guided exercises, improvisation, or simply noticing what your body is communicating.
Integrate
We close through words, drawing, or writing, reflecting on what emerged so you can carry that wisdom beyond the session.
